HARD DAY 1

Stringpincher, Your smoking history may be more heavy now. If that is the case, the patches won't feel as relieving as they did before. We strongly encourage you to work through the tools of the program. There are lots of great strategies and tips to help you push through those craves. Keep persevering! Sorry you're having a bad time, stringpincher. Every quit is differsnt, but patches do expire. Maybe check the date on yours. Also, did you prepare well for this quit? Did you think about your triggers and how you would deal with them? The program here is excellent for that and gives you a lot of confidence and knowledge. If you haven't done it, I recommend it. If you have, maybe try reviewing your reasons to quit and your coping strategies. If you want to sleep, then sleep if you can. Your body is recovering from years of being poisoned & it will take a few day to feel anything like normal. So be good to yourself, give yourself what you need to feel better. Most of us here found sipping cold water very helpful, especially from a bottle. We also chewed or sucked on everything from mints to hard candy to straws. Hang in, stringpincher, the first few days are the worst. It gets so much better and it's so worth it.
