Is anyone else suffering with insatiable hunger?? I'm not talking about being a bit hungrier than normal. I'm talking stomach cramps, inability to concentrate, nausea, weakness.....the sickness you get when you're STARVING, even whilst your actually EATING!! Because if I'm the only one who's hunger is this bad, I'm going to the doctor! Crystal x

Stopping smoking creates many varied and quite surprising symptoms in the body and in the mind. My thought is that you need to take your own advise and visit your doctor. They might be able to help you. I know for me I got hungry, however, I was never suffering or in pain from it and it sounds like you are in pain and need to get some professional medical advise. Crystal, in reading this and your other post, please forgive me but I don't believe that you are suffering from hunger...as in hunger for food. You are having withdrawals plain and simple. Your body and your mind (as someone in your other thread pointed out) are trying to confuse the lack of cigarettes with the lack of food. You can't stuff your way into feeling better. I suggest that you find ways to relax. Work through the program tools. Start a quit journal and in it write your reasons for quitting, your coping mechanisms, your reward plan, and also paste threads, posts and inspirational writings that speak to you. Hang in there...it will get better! Crystal, Almost all smokers notice an increase in hunger. You may tend to eat more than you used to. Your body's absorption of food is improved as well, so you will gain more nourishment even if you don't eat more. How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Try low calorie snacks or beverages. Congrats on becoming an ex-smoker! Melanie ______________________ The SSC Support Team
