The Sweats

ang, Your hands and fingers may tremble slightly. However, the tremor is usually minor, and will subside as your body gets used to not smoking. You may also experience increased perspiration. How long will this last? The first few weeks after quitting. Tips to help: Frequent warm baths or showers can help dispel both the perspiration and the tremor. If you are concerned, consult your doctor to determine whether it is severe enough to warrant medication. If you have a symptom that persists or seems worse than you expected, you should immediately consult a doctor. Its possible that your smoking has been masking symptoms of some illness, and when you stop smoking the symptoms abruptly become noticeable. I started getting the sweats in my sleep for a few days now. I didn't get them like the first week so why are they starting now? It's horrible but it doesn't make me want a cigarette, I am sure i'll get over it. My sleeping patterns are really weird I hate it. Can anyone tell me if they got these? When do the sweats stop? Why do we get them? I didnt think I was that physically addicted to nicotine, I thought it was only psychological because Ionly smoked like 5 a day usually. Its weird! in watching these boards over the last 4 years, I can tell you that there have been more than a few women who think they suspected they were upset in hormonal ways by their quit. I was dead in the middle of menopausal symptoms when I quit....my night sweats and hot flashes did seem to intensify for a while.....and then they settled down and then they flared up again. Who knows whether the quit was really to blame or not??? But this complaint is not all that uncommon....in women who are at the 'change' and in women who aren't.
