I encourage you to keep talking to your doctor and letting them know what your needs are. Tell them that you feel you need inpatient or extensive outpatient treatment. You know yourself best, and know what your needs are. Have a conversation with your doctor and find out what the best the options are.
Keep using the activities on this site. There is tool which allows your to track your moods, and this can help you gain some understanding of why you feel so up and down.

I am new to this forum and just started with the first section. I have been home from work for 2 weeks under the advise of my MD. I recently stopped all meds so I could start on the EMSAM (MAOI) patch. It was very difficulty to go off of all meds and continue to work. I have had depressive issues for years now and have tried many different medications. They will work for awhile but either stop working or give me horrible side effects. The latest being Prozac that made me obsessed with death (very weird). So far I have been on the patch for 2 weeks with results. Some days I have lots of energy and start seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and then others I just cry all day. I was hoping to go back to work in a few weeks but that scares the hell out of me. I don't know if I can do it. I realized maybe I need more help. I was considering asking my doc for inpatient treatment or at least extensive outpatient treatment to help me figure out why I keep feeling so up and down. I start working through the activities at this site and hope this will help. Sorry I am rambling but I just need to talk to someone about this.
