Hi everyone,

Low mood is a common withdrawal symptom when trying to quit smoking. Just remember, it will pass and you will soon have more energy and feel better then ever.

How are you all feeling today? How do you try to boost your mood when feeling low?

Ashley

I didn't realize until trying to quit how much smoking had been a bandaid for my depression. I thought I was actually doing better with it but i think it was just being covered up since i started using cigarettes. It's totally normal that smoking boosts your ood so quitting means feeling real low, even if despression isn't something you're familiar with. I am trying to remember it's just an adjustment period and the benefits will outweigh feeling so low and shitty now... Im still in week one and with ya

Hi all,

So I recently quit smoking and I am sooooooo depressed. I have always struggled with depression and I am thinking maybe smoking helped me in some ways. It gave me something to look forward to. It distracted me. It gave me a boost. I truly want to quit but the depression and cravings are really getting to me. I can't even leave the house to do something fun. How is everyone else coping? Has anyone else used substances to cope with their depression? if so, were you able to kick the habit?
