Rhonnie, Sorry for the delay. I enlisted help from our on site doctor. Here is what he had to say: The symptoms of depression and GAD frequently occur together. Panic attacks are common in depression and the symptoms of panic disorder and GAD also frequently occur. It is not uncommon for people to have symptoms of all three. Professionals usually try to use as few labels as possible even though sometimes all three diagnoses might seem to "fit." Then professionals usually spend time trying to figure out which problem came first and which problem is the biggest problem. Panic and GAD often go together. Often it seems that people with panic disorder develop GAD(chronic worry) over time. Rhonnie, hope this helps clarify your question. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Hi Chanda. Unfortunatley right now I'm not doing so great. I've cut down on my med.(with the help of my doctor)and even though it was a low dose,I'm feeling it. Oh well I've felt this way for 9 months what's a few more weeks gonna do ha ha. How are you? Doing good I hope! Keep in touch!! Rhondda

Hi can someone please clarify something for me. I was diagnosed with panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and depression. I'm currently reading Beyond Anxiety and Phobia by Edmund J. Bourne and he writes that GAD is characterized by chronic anxiety that persists for at least 6 months but is unaccompanied by panic attacks. I'm confused!!
