Strange panic

I think when you concentrate on something else that much, you eliminate your panic and then when it goes away all at once those feelings come back full force at one time, as opposed to the panic slowly(even though it doesn€™t feel this way)building.

Has anyone ever experienced something lie this: i was doing my exposure work, which now consists just of walking in front of my building for some time (half an hour actually) and i was pretty tense. i noticed a bird gathering things for its nests and concentrated on it really hard, even started talking to it - just to get my mind of my thoughts for a second - i konw it sounds funny, anyway, when i turned around i felt dizzy and light headed as if my concentration suddently went back to panic. and i hurried home which i know i shouln't have done...but it was very scary...why does this sudden change of object of concentration cause anxiety/panic? i used to have those feelings when i would a magazine on a bus and suddenly realized i didn't know where i was (this was before my illness started) and i would feel dizzy and scared? Any explanations? Thanks, Iwona.
