That is a good question. There are a at least a couple of possibilities. The first is to design and complete a plan for gradual exposure that you do outside of the drive to work. So, you do the drive to and from work everyday and in the evenings and weekends you do gradual exposure work. It won't make the drive to work any easier at first but it should help in the long run.
Another alternative would be to do much more driving to and from work or driving under the same conditions. The approach here would be to do massive and intensive exposure over a short period of time. So, for example, some people take a week off work and do nothing but drive, starting out with easier exposure work for the first couple of days and then working themselves up to what they "have" to do.
