switching meds

For anyone taking Zoloft, what is the average of what people take. I was on 50 mgs for a few years, then was upped to 100 mgs, and recently upped to 100 mgs, in the morning and 50 mgs at supper time. I have not yet started taking the 50 mgs at supper as I feel I felt fine before on 50, why do I have to keep upping it?

When I switched from celexa to effexor -- I didn't take a break, my doctor explained that it would be fine to continue with the effexor. When I started on the Zoloft I had not taken any medication for a little more than a month. I agree that you should ask the doctor/pharmacist. Take care, B

Heed the previous advice about consulting a pharmacist. Usually there is a "ramp-down" period while tapering off one medication, then a two week rest period, then a "ramping-up" period onto the new medication. .. or at least there has been every time I've had to switch between SSRIs (Celexa, Serzone, Wellbutrin, etc) Be Well~

Lauren, It is usually a good idea to talk to your pharmacist and doctor regarding medication switches and dosages. They will able to advise you correctly. Hope this helps, Josie _______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

I have a question about switching meds. My husband is switching from lexapro to zoloft. Has anyone done this or know how? Should he just stop one and start the next one right away?
