Cookiepants, Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When youre finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. This may better help assess the situation. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Take care and we hope to hear from you soon. I'm probably not going to be much help with the medication as in England docters don't appear to perscribe any medication, but, and I know you will probably already know this, the increase in attacks is probably due to what you said, you are anticipating them, you are anxious about having a panic. I don't know what to say to help you, just keep trying to face them and hopefully you will remember that these will not hurt you. I am exactly the same, I constantly worry that something might happen to me, like I'll eat something and then worry it is poisoned or stupid things like that, but nothing has happened as yet!! I know I haven't helped much, I just wanted to say keep strong.

Hi all I'm new here. I've been suffering from Panic Disorder for 10 years and was originally given Aropax but came off that when I fell pregnant. After quite a few other SSRI's I experienced the loss of libido side effect so my doctor tried me on Aurorix (wish made me more depressed) Effexor which caused me to want to self harm and yet I'd never had that feeling before. Anyway, he ended up prescribing Remeron/Mirtazapine/Avanza... typed in all three names because I've yet to discover where most of you are from. I've been on this med for 7 months now and I noticed a few months ago my panic attacks started occuring again although not that often perhaps one a week etc. Prior to xmas I went through a large amount of stress and then went on a holiday in January and BANG my panic attacks are back in full swing. I was taking 30mg of Avanza and my doctor (2 weeks ago) increased my dose to 45mg. Its helping somewhat but I'm still having attacks now and then and I also have the dreaded "anticipatory attacks" ie. I can't seem to get the fear of panicking out of my mind. I've always faced my attacks, I've never stopped myself from going anywhere because of them but for eg? I went to the gym today and after I finished my workout I was in the shower with the door locked and then started feeling panicky incase something happened to me and I had the door locked ya know? Is anyone else on this drug and does it help with Panic? Is 2 weeks too soon for the new increase to start working. I would so appreciate any advice. Thankyou
