I have, and many others I have encountered with PA's. We read too much sometimes for our own good to be educated, but other times can hinder us. I too get mediphobic changing meds, or being prescribed one for an illness. I was given a beta blocker for my adrenaline surges, rapid heart rate, and that first dose made me feel the same as you. I was on the phone with the pharmacist, which he politely told me, it I was having any type of allergic reaction, it would have happened well within the first hour of taking it. I was itchy all over, thinking will my throat swell up next, etc. It was making me having a mini attack over the sheer fear of what effects it would have on me, took me about 4 days as each day, I would "anticipate" that first hour of taking the pill what "could" happen. Finally I could take the med without worrying about it.
