I wish I knew them. Sometimes we do things, and we really don't know how we accomplished the feat. All I can really say is that quitting smoking requires not smoking. That's all. I had to force myself not to smoke, using desire and distractions mostly. I also have a personality that allows me to walk through frustration and even pain to reach a goal. There are few things that I really don't believe that I can't have--a million bucks, a Rolls Royce. I believe things can be mine, if I set my mind toward accomplishing them. I learned long ago to build self-esteem through achievement and that measured steps is the way to protect from failure while walking through fire. That's what I do: Look but leap. I tend to be focused, perhaps sometimes to a fault. Because of my past, I have the gift (or burden) of hypervigilance. I guess maybe somewhere in there is the answer to the question.
