Hi, Thank you for asking! I just saw this. I was out all day. Working on a future! Big med change I am happy about. Ive been doing my homework. Stinky smokers today! Everywhere! Its been a little better lately. Im working on a fresh start and I proudly tell people I even quit smoking to combat the health issues I have. Im trying everything I can think of. Soon I will be at the 100 day mark. Triple digits!!! I glad.

Lance:

Are you able to get out and just walk.  I know it sounds trite and perhaps simplistic, but I found in the early days that forcing my body into a "runner's high" was magic.  It is ok to use your body's ability to work on your mind...Instead of eating, you may want to try cold water...It flushes the body and for some reason does diminish the urge to smoke.

I know this can be very difficult, simply because it is not simply a matter of physical withdrawal.  For me there was a spiritual and emotional element that was undeniable.  The problems you face at this time seem to be legion.  But the reward you will gain from the knowledge that you beat one of the most difficult addictions around will outweigh any temporary relief you can gain by welcoming the cycle back into to your life.  There is a certain confidence that comes with cessation, and that confidence can lead one to pursue other goals that perhaps would not have been otherwise considered.  It is a path and it's a good one for reasons you will only discover once you move further down the road.

stay well

Lance, I understand. On my last quit, I caught my 15 year old with a pack of smokes, and 2 hours later found out my oldest son, who I had "pushed" into the military, was given orders to Iraq, this was all 10 days before xmas. I crumbled like a house of cards. I also suffer from chronic depression, have my whole life, since about 15 years old. You HAVE to use every tool you can think of to get through this rough spot. Walking always helps me, so does any kind of physical labor, go out and volounteer, help an old couple fix there car if your handy like that..?? Do anything to make yourself feel mentally better, and physically tired. Showers, exercise, fresh air, talking to someone, think about it. You don't want to throw away all these days for a weak moment. Your bettering yourself everyday. A smoke is tempoary, expensive, and will kill you. You deserve better, don't give up the fight friend.

You've got a pair of lucky sevens in your stats there Lance.  Hold them tight and get some fresh air.  Be as strong as you can - that's a lot of days to throw away and make all that effort for nothing.

I and many others will be pulling for you tonight.

It as if every day is getting harder. As I am more and more bloated from trying to fill the void with food, there seems to be no more satisfaction. Its not helping having depression issues.

Im going outm I hope I make it today.

Lance,

Your a very strong, committed individual. With everything your going through, you are managing to resist the demon. If you can make it through to the 1st of the year, and then Febuary, March, and then into spring you'll be home free. You must find ways to remove yourself from the smokers in your place, go outside, find something, anything. I have been following your quit, and I think a lot of people here are pulling for you. Deal with the issues, talk to someone, get it all out of your system. We are here for you anytime friend.

Just a side note, I craved pretty bad up to around 120 days, I'm guessing me and you were pretty heavy smokers, I know I was. When you take the step you'll know it, and you'll leave smoking behind, where it belongs.

Sorry to see you're still having such a time of it Lance.  Is there a public library near you with computers?  Maybe you can get away from the in & out smokers' club, get some fresh air and loosen the jeans at the same time by using a computer there?

The longer you sit in that room the more the walls are going to close in on you - I've been there.  The only way to move away from your troubles is to get moving, regardless of how s*** you are feeling.

The holidays are a very difficult time, Lance. It isn't just you--many of us have a particularly hard time coping this time of year. However, 75 days is just huge and nothing to throw away. Make it your mission to get through one hour and one day at a time for right now. Don't look ahead -- just focus on now.  I agree with the others -- get out if you can, get a new look at the outside world.  And don't give up, Lance. You are doing very important work for yourself.

Lance,

We are all know that nothing will change if you have just one or more than one...  So yes, get out the area, use a coping mechanism, take a shower!

You have come so far and 7 days is a great stat!
