Chantix question

for 16 år siden 0 216 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I had some depression but I really don't think it was the chantix.  It may have been the anticipation of quitting After the quit  I get a little depressed but  that too is because of the quit.  I don't stay depressed, just a passing thing that goes away rather quickly.  I am still on the Chantix.  Hopefully in about 3 weeks I will be stopping.  Just remember if you use Chantix do not  just up and quit taking them.  You need to ween yourself off of them.

Good luck and stay strong.

ICL, I know that this is a reported side effect for some, but I did not have that problem.  I know that upset stomach is another.  I never had that problem as long as I took it with food and a large glass of water.  After a month I was taking it on an empty stomach with no problems.  I actually had the depression problems kick in after I was off it.  Medication reacts different for everyone, so don't rule the meds out based on somebody elses experience.  I never would have made it a week without Chantix, to me it is a miracle to get over the physical withdrawal.  Its this mental garbage months down the road that are a real hum dinger.  Good luck to you, let me know what you decide to do!!

I choose life,

No medication can cause depression. Medications can interact with your brain chemistry and induce or disturb mood & thought patterns.

If you are experiencing significant disturbances in mood or thoughts, you should consult your doctor at your earliest convenience.

Hi Guys,

I just have a question for the people who quit using chantix, does it cause depression? I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me how it worked for you and how you felt on it!

Thanks

Paula
