I'm sure I will have another crisis someday and I know you will be there. I am just going to try and make this a great day.
It's Friday and a Holiday weekend at that. I went out and bought me a Gazebo for my reward. It will be nice for the picnic this weekend. It is going to be a great Holiday weekend.
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Weekend.

My only coping that I did yesterday was eat and walk. I told myself that this day had to end sometime.
It really helped that I had Jim on the IM to talk to most of the day and then Anxioux 1 popped in too, they were a great help and I don't think I could have made it through the day without them. I am feeling better today, got a good nights sleep and ready to tackle another day. After going through all that yesterday and not giving in to smoking, I do feel stronger.
You all were right, when you fight a battle like that and win you come out feeling stronger and ready for the next one. Just don't make it too soon!!!!
Have a great day everyone and NOPE

Journal, journal, journal! You've made it through a long, hard crave that you've learned a lot about yourself and some coping mechanisms that may come in handy in the future. Share with us the coping mechanisms that you used throughout the day to remain smoke free!
As for the eating habits; steer clear of junk food and focus on eating healthy snacks and drinking lots of water. Here are some tips to try:
When you are getting hungry try an apple or carrot sticks in place of candy.
If your craving salty, try nuts instead of chips or crackers.
Dried fruits make great healthy snacks as well.
In your everyday eating try to replace white grains with whole wheat.
Try eating three well balanced meals a day and limit your snacking.
You know it seems like I have been fighting this all day. I am exhausted. But still smoke free.
I was reading a little calorie counting book and it had advice on how to cut down your eating. It is funny because most of the advise is the same as the tools and suggestions for quitting smoking. So for those of us who have gained tooooo much we can just transfer those tools to eating. And I figure if your busy counting calories your too busy to think about smoking. Could be wrong but I am going to give it a shot. I have to stop eating to replace the smoking. It is getting to far out of hand.
Any suggestions? Give me a shout!!!! I have always been a multitasker.

Ok so now that the crave has passed I want to share how I get through my craves....
Back in the first few days of my quit I remember tearing my house apart trying to find a cigarette when a BAD crave hit. Literally at one point I moved the refrigerator out to make sure none had slid under there. Junkie Mentality! So now when I have a crave (which have never been quite as strong as that one was) I just think back to that day and tell myself...."Tiffany if you made it through that one....this little one is NOTHING." It works for me. For some reason it's a mind over matter thing for me. I don't want to start my quit meter over. So just think....that was your longest, hardest crave and you made it through!!!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!! IT WILL GET EASIER!!
HANG TOUGH!

I wish I could just go home but that is not possible today or even this week. Too busy.
But I got a little help from my quit buddy and you guys and I am feeling better. Not completely out of the woods but I feel like I can cope now. I used that IM thing for the first time today. Never knew how it worked. Comes in pretty handy when you need help like right now. I learned something new today. I think that is the longest a crave, attack ro whatever that was has lasted. BUT I MADE IT!!!!!!!! NOT ONE PUFF!!!!!!!!!
Still hanging in there!!!!!

How are you doing? Maybe can you go home sick? Crawl under the covers, cry a little and nap? I know I had to do it a few times and that is really against my work standard for me, but I didn't feel safe anyplace else. I could use it today, but we are to short staffed. I know how you are feeling, I get anxious and take lots of meds, if I didn't, it would be a panick attack and holly cow. See a doc to help you with it at least termporarily. I am sorry you are feeling this way. Take care hon, post back and let us know.
