Hi Veronica,
Somebody recommended knitting back in September of last year and I have been doing it ever since.
Keeps my hands busy and I am usually counting in my head. I also crochet but I find knitting helps me more.
Housework, or I will clean out a closet or something, that I have been meaning to do. Go out and play with the dogs. I don't like walking around my area in the winter as the roads are covered with ice, and we get too much snow.
I have a whole list of things I do.
Reading doesn't work for me. Having a bath or a hot tub relaxes me. My Dr. taught me how to meditate and I also have relaxation tapes that I listen to.
6 months ago I wouldn't have even tried them. Now I listen to them when I am anxious and at bedtime.
Counting breaths helps me when I am anxious and out of the house.
I am on the computer a lot as I have a number of research projects that I do.
If there is nothing to do I create something, or sometimes I will lay down and have a nap if I think my anxiety is because I'm tired.
Morning use to be a terrible time for me, as it seemed it was the longest part of my day. Plus my 2 main attacks came on in the morning.
Do you take your ativan when you are having the anxiety?
I have been able to cut my dose in half the last 3 days, but I am having headaches each day.
By the way, you can email me at stephanie at i-zoom.net if you like. It may be easier and it doesn't look like anyone is going to join into our conversation!!!
TTYS:o)
