Hi Terry! You are doing great! Unfortunatley weight gain is the only detriment to quitting. But you are doing it the right way, stepping it up at the gym will build more muscle which in turn will burn more calories. Keep in mind though, our age and the life milestones we go through also have an impact here. We sometimes forget that, unfortunatly some of the problems we have after age 45, could be from PMS, or menopause etc etc. :) The joys of womanhood.

Hi Terry, I can see from your pic that you are not too big to start with. I am just like you. I have added a few pounds and it seems like it is all in the middle. My jeans are definately tighter. I too am exercising and doing yoga. Food just taste soooo much better. I was actually under weight to start with for my height. I am probably about right now. I just can't help but think about the commerical on T.V. that said Bikini vs broncitis. I feel so much better physically and I am breathing much better. I can only say that we both need to do all we can to stay in shape as best we can and smoking is not an option. I have gained some weight, but I have pumped up my visits to the gym and walk at lunch as often as possible. I definitely feel the extra stuff in my middle but I figure it's better than smoking. I have heard a lot about the time it takes for your eating and body functions to even out. I feel uncomfortable.
