I wanted to let you all know that I have reset my quit date to today. I cannot be a member of the January No Nics because I find I need the stimulus of the nicotine. Let me explain - I am on a chemotherapy drug that has, as an unfortunate side effect, loss of energy. I was finding that I could never get enough sleep, and this was not due to depression. I was happy that my medical condition was stable, but my quality of life was suffering from chronic fatigue. The truth is, I need a stimulant. I am currently taking 7 different medications, so one more is not an option for me. I found that increasing my nicotine intake over the last week has improved my energy levels, and life is much better for me. I truly recognize the hazards of cigarette smoking, and while this has made me feel much better this last week, I realize that smoking is not an option. The additives in cigarettes are lethal. So, for those of you who are totally anti nicotine, I can't do it at this time. For those of you who are able to support me in anti smoking, I am resetting my meter to 0, and would appreciate your support. I will continue to visit this site, because there are some awsome people here, and you are doing a great job. I will continue my battle on both fronts, cancer and smoking, and will offer support to others as appropriate. DL, Mr. Ed, Lainey, Teresa, Aloha, Deck, JDK and Rockstar- you have become special people in my life. Keep the quit, for me My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/7/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 2 Mins: 39 Seconds: 14
