Gosh, no wonder you had a bad time. Poor you. So you effectively went from 21mg to nothing.
First of all, I want you to give yourself some massive credit for what you have achieved. Even on the 21mg patch, you are getting a lot less nicotene than with smoking. That was a huge step.
So now you are on the 14mg, and if you can manage on that, then I think you will find the next step much easier. I felt much more comfortable on 14mg than on 21mg, and it was OK going down to 7mg. By all means do everything to boost your confidence. Maybe book a hypnotherapist for just before when you plan the next step down - it can really help with the anxiety bit.
It's difficult to know how much of what you feel is psychological and how much is nicotene withdrawal. I know many people say go cold turkey, but I just would have killed someone without my patches. ;) If it is working, keep going.
