Did anyone else find second day worse?

for 17 år siden 0 9 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well. I haven't been on in a couple of days. Thank you for asking how I'm doing. Just wrapping up day 5 and my husband and I are doing good. Haven't touched a cigarette. Neither one of us. We've never been able to say that before. (ALways snuck puffs before, which would be why we never quit.) Had a rough day 3 and 4. Should have come on here but wasn't able to. We can't wait to be able to say it's been a week. It really does help reading people's replies on here knowing that what I'm feeling is normal. Hope everyone is doing well. Hey laughery28 My second, third, fourth and fifth day were crazy. But well worth it. I do have to admit my poor kids did stay away from me during that time period but I explained to them and they understood. Now they just keep counting the weeks with me. At first it was the hours, then the days, now we moved onto the weeks. They got really invovled in it becuase they constantly hear about how smoking will kill you at school. My daughter (whose 8 almost 9)said to me that if anyone ever offers her a cig when she's older she'll tell them that she doesn't every want to go through hell week like her mommy so she will never start smoking. So hell week was actually a positive experience in my house. If you explain to your kids they will understand. Just remember to take deep breaths and drink a lot of ice water. That will help you with your craves. You are doing great. Keep going because it is worth it. Yes. I am coping thank you. Did not go and get cig's so that is good. Only about 4 hours until bed time and then I can move on to day three....I am focused. LOL. felt like I was losing it for a bit today but didn't. Going to go soak in a hot bath. Thank you all for the replies. I distinctly remember my 2nd day being worse than the first. But the third day was easier then them both. Stay busy, eat fruit. Review your reasons of why you quit. laughery28, Everyone's quit is different, your second day may be harder then the first. Try your best to stay focused on your goal and set some rewards for yourself. This will help get you through the harder times. Sylvie, Moderator

I thank you for responding. My husband and I are quitting together and it is so hard to not go at each other. I don't want our kids to be in the center of HELL week. I have been sleeping a lot and crying. Wanted to go get cigarettes but got on here instead. I will continue to get on here. Thank you for responding. Welcome Laughery28, and I can say that the first four days of your quit are the hardest as the nicotine leaves your body. Then you have what is called Hell week which is Day 1 through Day 7 and then it gets somewhat better from Day 8 through 14 and which week is known as Heck Week and then, depending on your constitution, you'll be beset by cravings (some have less, like myself, and others have many on some days) that can last from a mind-flash to 5 minutes or more. But, you'll be wise to study the programme here ASAP and learn how to deal with the cravings in the Tools& Resources box at the top of this page. Fill in your profile and your mileage meter and keep coming back to read and to post your feelings about the day to day hard work you're going to be doing. If you are having great difficulty with a craving, post in here asking for "Help" and wait for a short while for replies from your fellow members. Things do get Better... depend on it, focus on it and work it hard.
