Lainey, I was really romancing those cigs. I have been overwhelmed since last night with the ups and downs of this quit. One minute I am so strong and I feel like an oak tree, the next minute I am flimsy and weak, crying, volatile and just don't think I can do it. Today the down part of the roller coaster lasted for several hours and I was about to blow my quit. But I read Nonic's post and it shed some light on why I feel this way and brought me out of the fog that I was in. So as of right now I am okay. But Lainey, I took that patch off and didn't put another one on. Every time I put one on the left side it doesn't seem to be effective, right side is fine. But today it was giving me a super headache and I was so depressed. Took it off about an hour ago and I feel so much different. So I don't know what I'm going to do about the patch yet. Also, I'm working on day 4 girl, please don't make me go back to yesterday ! :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/11/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 75 Amount Saved: $20.63 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 0 Seconds: 32

KL, Are you still romancing the cigs? Thinking you are still missing something? It helps to read what cigarettes are doing your body, how they were killing you, all the 4000 chemicals that were in them, like plastic and rocket fuel and ammonia. YUK! Take some deep breaths, (You don't have another dud patch do you??) Try getting a softdrink straw, (the wider ones) cut it to the size of a smoke and use it as a fake one. You get the sharp inhale and the feel of something in your hand but none of the smoke or drugs, and if it sounds silly, think again, it won't kill you, the cigarettes will! I found it helpful when I had some tough times! Hang in Kristilu, you are getting day three down! It will get better! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 346 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,650 Amount Saved: $3,650.30 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 10 Mins: 59 Seconds: 47

Kristilu, They don't call it "hell" week for nothing. Just do anything you have to (except smoke!). Some people spent almost the whole first week in the bath! Remember - a craving will not kill you. It does not hurt. It is just a restless feeling. Find something to distract yourself with. We have all been there - you can do this. Bring on Day 4! I don't know Lainey, I'm just a mess today. Wearing my patch, but to no avail. I don't know if it was all the discussion about it last night with my husband or what. I just can't get cigarettes out of my brain. It is consuming my every thought and I'm pissed off because I can't have one. But, I know if I can make it thru this week, it will get better. I just feel like I'm going crazy! I figured it had to be something like that. I used to have trouble with them when I was warm and they would come loose, and of course as soon as they aren't attached you notice the cravings increase. I always carried at least one spare one with me. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 345 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,625 Amount Saved: $3,639.75 Life Gained: Days: 45 Hrs: 8 Mins: 0 Seconds: 58
