Jacqui, I noticed a pattern early on in my quit... and to some extent it is still evident. I noticed that there would be periods of heightened craving, followed by lulls. The periods of craving got shorter and less intense, generally speaking,... as the lulls got longer and less peppered with moments of craving.
I will still encounter a few days of increased craving every little while. In fact, the last couple of days was like that. It's not strong, but compared to the peace I usually have these days...even a few days of mild craving can be annoying.
Anyway, at 100 days I was still wrestling with some strong desire to smoke. Not every day, but it would come in waves.... a few days of craving, followed by calm for a while. It's just your mind making the adjustment. Thinking of it as a physical injury that's healing... and the discomfort is letting you know that the healing process is active.
It won't last, Jacqui. Little by little it will fade away until the day comes when you look back... and you'll realize, "I haven't had anything that I could call "craving" in... how long?"
Give it time. Give it as much time as it needs. I know you're not where you want to be, yet... but you're getting there. And the only way to get there is to pass through where you're at today.
Smile. :) You're getting better!
