Hi Terry
Good for you. I am glad you are thinking things through and preparing.
Isn't it amazing how these little sticks can have such a huge impact on us. Every single day. When we get some smoke free time under our belts we begin to realize the depths to which this addiction controls our lives. Like Kita said, chantix is no silver bullet but it certainly helps with the initial stages of stopping.
I have no magic remedy but have been reading your threads and I wish you success. Know that you have one more soul who is wishing you well.

What do you mean when you say you quit using it? How long were you taking it? I only plan to take it long enough to help me quit. Then I plan to not use it anymore.
Hi Terry,
I quit using Chantix and it is my first quit. I am to old to have to keep doing this. Chantix will help you but it is not a silver bullet by any means. Just make sure you eat something when you take it. Good luck to you if I can do it you can do it.

Terry, I understand that Chantix has a pretty good Web site and support forum. You might check that out.

I'm not quite sure yet what my quit date will be. I am supposed to take this stuff a week before my quit date so maybe next week end. It's definitely coming, I just don't quite feel like myself yet. Hopefully in a few days I'll know better. I kinda feel upside down and outside of myself still.

Good news, Terry... so, when is your quit date? I really want you to succeed and I watch for your posts when I log on.

Thanks for your concern Kelly,
I knew I would get that response from someone :)I have read up on it and know all the side effects and the questions the doctor will ask me. Since I do not have high blood pressure and am not on any kind of medications including over the counter pain meds, I feel ok with this one. I would not take anyones blood pressure medication or pain meds but I will do this. These things cost an arm and a leg and my medical insurance won't cover it until I spend $2500.00. This is free
