Hi all,
I have the same fear of exercise and I now do not exercise at all for the exact same reasons you all have said (fear of heart attack and no one there to help). I used to go to the gym 4 days a week and work out pretty intensively. Anxiety and stress have caused me to lose about 20 lbs over the past year and a half, so I am thin and I seem to stay that way now, even without exercising. I really want to get back into exercising for my health and stress relief though, as I know it is about the most important thing you can do for yourself, health-wise. Yesterday, at the mall, I had completely unprovoked (no anxiety ) heart palpitations, I thought "oh no, this is it" but of course it went away, as it always does and I was fine. Like you Pete, I know I will die one day, and I would hate to just sit around in fear and wait for it to happen. I am 27, have no family history of heart probs, don't smoke, am not overweight, eat healthy, thus am at very low risk for heart disease.
Anyways, I hope you all have a great xmas and forget about your problems for awhile ( easier said than done, don't I know it)
Sarah
