"If you don't debate it with "the voice", you cannot be persuaded." -Pen
That's it. If there's no argument, there's no threat. When we start diologuing with our "inner junkie", we've already lost. The junkie can have no say. At...all. Top o' the mornin' everyone! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 144 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,600 Amount Saved: $1,332.00 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 5 Mins: 14 Seconds: 18

How comfortable am I with my quit? Very comfortable. What have I done to make my quit manageable? I don't even entertain the thought of smoking. If you don't debate it with "the voice", you cannot be persuaded. It's just no longer an option. My take on five years? Very similar to 3 years 2 months but I'll tell you for sure when I get there. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1166 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 23,320 Amount Saved: 5,830.00 Life Gained: Days: 187 Hrs: 6 Mins: 21 Seconds: 3

Hi stickin to it...no mistake...one day at a time is how to kick an addiction. Our quits are much easier now. I typically don't think about smoking, in fact I can't even imagine holding a cigarette in my hands anymore, foreign concept after 5 years. I've learned after blowing a 3 year quit 20 years ago, not to get too cocky about my quit. All it took was one cigarette to get me addicted again, and I smoked for an additional 15 years. I remain humble to this terrible addiction. I have been sober also for many years, but the cigarette addiction is the worst; well for me anyway. Never let your guard down. I have no idea what to think about 5 years. I intend to get there, but while I hope i am not still thinking about smoking every day at that point, if that's what it is, so be it. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 128 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,120 Amount Saved: $870.40 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 20 Mins: 3 Seconds: 13

I'm nowhere 1 year & can't even see 5 years from here. But for waht it's worth, I know I am quit & I will never smoke again. I know that absolutely and beyond doubt, until something happens that I don't have a strategy for, or a lot of stressful things happen all at once, or I hear the junkie whisper, "just one, you're OK now, you won't go back to it, just have one.".. Then it goes back to one day, hour, minute. After 1 or 5 years, will it still be the same? If it keeps me quit, I hope so!
