Kathleen, you don't REALLY want to smoke, you know you don't. You will feel awful if you do & not just physically. You will be mad at yourself, & feel that you have let yourself down. And do you really want to go throught the first part of ANOTHER quit???
It's the junkie that lives in your head putting those thoughts there. I don't know everything that might be going on with you but by your stats, could you possibly have let your guard down, maybe not kept your triggers & strategies front & centre? The junkie doesn't need a very big space to wiggle into.
Try to visualize doing something else after work, a reward for getting through a rough day. Maybe a book or music or something that smells good. Or do something nice for yourself, a long walk, a candlelit soak in the tub, whatever makes you feel pampered.
I have started to gain weight now too & I hate it but as someone else posted today, "I can lose weight, I can't lose emphysema".
I'm so glad you posted Kathleen, & will be even gladder when you come back & say you didn't slip. You will feel so strong & proud. You're doing this hard thing, Kathleen, you can keep doing it for today. We're all pulling for you.
