Sam,
As the members have advised, this is normal and will pass :) Take the time to check with your doctor to rule out anything medical, if this persists.
Great job on 4 days!

yep sure did Sam, to me and DH. It happened to me around bedtime. It hasn't happened to me in weeks though.

Sam,
You are doing great! If that feeling persists more than a few weeks I would get it checked out, unless of course you are running a fever, in that case I would get it checked right away. Just don't let it stop your quit!

Thanks Janna for your response.
Good to know that I am not alone with this feeling.
I don't feel particularly anxious so hopefully it's
just the healing process. I would think that our
bodies will go through a number of changes - all
positive ones !
Well I'm just going to keep an eye on this and yes,
if it does persist I will consult my dr. I was also
thinking that maybe it's the high levels of heat, smog
and humidity in the air - we're having a heat wave in
Toronto so maybe that's a contributing factor. Either
way I'm aware of the feeling and won't let it get worse
than it is right now.
Thanks again :)

Sam:
I experienced this too. I actually am still having it once in a while. Really weird heavy feeling/ tight feeling. I have read that it is anxiety, but I have also read that it is your body healing itself. I am not sure which, but I just wanted to ease your mind that you are not alone. Others experience this too. If it doesn't ease up in a few days or worsens, I would probably talk to or see your doc. Great job on sticking with it!!!!!

Has anyone else felt a heaviness in their chests in their
non smoking journey ? I'm into day 5 and I feel like I
smoked 2 packs in a short period of time.
My chest isn't congested, I'm not coughing up or even
clearing my throat - just this feeling of heaviness.
Let me know if this has happened to you. Thanks :)
