Oh, I understand it mylast, We are addicted to nicotine! Every addict knows that his abusive substance of choice is harmful to them, but they keep on seeking it out, using it, promising themselves that they are going to quit; whether it be heroine, cocaine, meth, or nicotine. So, we should be absolutely proud that we have even seen our way through this maze of cravings to actually stay clean of our abusive substance. Geez, I used to smoke when I was sick as a dog, I would smoke when my children were pleading me to stop. But, I totally understand what you are saying. Mentally and physically, we understand that we should not smoke cigs, yet when something out of the ordinary, (or even something very ordinary, like sitting on the patio), happens, our first reaction is to reach for a cigarette. We have been doing this for 30+ years. Stress is a huge trigger for me also. I got in a little spat with my ex yesterday. My first reaction was to get in my car, ready to light up. He smokes, too, so I could have easily bummed one. Instead, I LEFT the situation.I hope that you had a relaxing evening. Some day we won't give two hoots about cigs. I am looking forward to that day and staying smoke free so i can reach that goal. I know that you will also.
