Chantix users - how did you feel?

for 17 år siden 0 7 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
My wife and I tried Chantix a while back. We both experienced all the bad side effects. Needless to say we stopped taking it before we even got to a quit date. Doc said a small percentage get all the bad stuff and none of the good stuff from it. It never did a thing for our urges. We're currently on Zyban and it's working great for us.

You're doing great, guys. Lori, I found that eating yogurt helped with the nausea. Candi - I didn't use Chantix and I was in a fog for days! More oxygen to the brain is what they said was causing it. Maybe you're having double the side effect from the meds and oxygen. Haha! Side effects from finally getting oxygen! Crazy!!! In fact, all the side-effects you and Lori are talking about I had. I quit cold turkey. These were simply caused by quitting. No Chantix. No NRT. Lots and lots of chemicals to purge. Lots and lots of chemicals to train your body to live without since it's spent so many years now learning to live with them. Just the thought makes me mad at myself. Oh well, it's just about getting better now. Lori - funny, funny, funny!!! Humor helps a lot. Way to go, you guys! You're doing great! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,140 Amount Saved: $222.30 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 10 Mins: 16 Seconds: 57

Good morning everybody - Still hanging on into day 3. Had some bigger cravings yesterday, but not too many so far this morning. Mostly, I feel sick - sick from the withdrawal and sick from the Chantix. I feel like a drug addict detoxing...maybe because I'm an addict and I'm detoxing from a drug! The side-effects from the Chantix have been fairly intense - being tired, spacey, lethargic and having an upset stomach a good amount of the time. But even with the side-effects, I can tell that the Chantix is diminishing my cravings. It's absolutely worth it. And since my stomach has felt funny, I'm not overeating and replacing cigs with food, so no worries about weight gain so far! Hope everyone has a good smoke-free day. Morning all. Starting day 4 today and also increasing the pills to 2mg today. Did increasing the mg make anyone seem more in a fog then before? I just seem to be more in this kind of fog then when I was on taking .5 in the morning. How long does this last? Still not smoking though. That's it Mr Lucky You have to stop smoking in order to stop craving. How often do you crave now? Every 30 minutes or so? Once you get the nicotine out of your body those craves will decrease both in frquency and intensity. Chantix just helps even out the nuerotransmitters, it is not a magic pill. You have to do some of the work yourself. Do you truly want to stop? if so, you can, and we will be here to support you through it. But you have to put out that last cigarette My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 193 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,720 Amount Saved: $1,312.40 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 0 Mins: 7 Seconds: 31

Hey Lori - are you doing better tonight? Well I made it through today, back to work and stress. All I can say is that my boss smokes and when he came in my office after having a cigarette, I nearly died from the smell. I can't believe that is what I smelled like. So glad not to be smoking. yes it will. but not until you stop smoking. I haven't had a crave in ages, neither has my husband. Break the habit to break the crave. Quite the group of September quitters. Yes, on the changing the routine up a bit. Once you don't smoke in response to a familiar event, such as waking up ;) a few times, it won't be such a trigger any more, because you will associatte that event with something else. You're all doing great! -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 193 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,720 Amount Saved: $1,312.40 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 23 Mins: 39 Seconds: 7
