How do you want to quit?

Tryagain, :) You've had a major breakthough in understanding yourself and nicotine addiction! When you peeled off all the layers, you found the junkie in you at the very core of the quitting onion. It stinks and will make you cry forever and will keep you smoking if you allow it to. This is where knowledge can set you free. You have a choice now. (1.) You can choose to keep smoking and let the addiction rule your life through junkie thinking. (2.) You can choose to stay as you are and yo-yo between smoking and quitting. (3.) You can choose to gain even more knowledge of yourself and this addiction and decide that smoking is not an option, ever again. :) Pat I chose what's behind curtain number 3. I do want to quit. I have quit! It is getting better everyday! I want to quit by training my body & mind to do without cigarettes. I am learning how wonderful it feels to be free of them. But now you, you have made a realization that is huge! My question back to you Tryagain, is if you don't want to quit, but have to quit, How can you turn it around so that it now becomes easier for you? How can you change your thinking so that you want to do what you need to do? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,125 Amount Saved: $896.75 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 10 Mins: 19 Seconds: 7

I've peeled all the layers off the onion and found at the core, I don't want to quit smoking. I don't like the weight gain or the disruption in my life. I don't like cravings, or even thinking about cigarettes. I can't quit the quit. It hurts too much, I cough too much, I can't even be around cigarette smoke. I gave a lift to someone who got in my car and immediately lit up. It hurt, it hurt in my chest. It hurt the same way it did when I was smoking. I told him to ditch the cig or find another ride. I started to cough and coughed for over three hours. That's only second hand smoke. If it was me smoking I would have coughed to black out. It dawned on me, I'm having a hard time because deep down, I don't want to quit at all! If I didn't have to, I wouldn't! How do you want to quit?
