I've peeled all the layers off the onion and found at the core, I don't want to quit smoking. I don't like the weight gain or the disruption in my life. I don't like cravings, or even thinking about cigarettes.
I can't quit the quit. It hurts too much, I cough too much, I can't even be around cigarette smoke. I gave a lift to someone who got in my car and immediately lit up. It hurt, it hurt in my chest. It hurt the same way it did when I was smoking. I told him to ditch the cig or find another ride. I started to cough and coughed for over three hours. That's only second hand smoke. If it was me smoking I would have coughed to black out.
It dawned on me, I'm having a hard time because deep down, I don't want to quit at all! If I didn't have to, I wouldn't!
