Hi CQ,
I have never taken any medication for panic disorder, just a personal choice. I read a lot of people blaming their medication for a lot of symptoms I have myself. Loss of Libido is one of them. I believe that medication can absolutely effect different people certain ways. On the flip side I don't believe medication can be the sole reason for some symptoms, all the time. I think loss of libido stems from an underlying fear of losing control. I also think it comes with the emotional drain and emotional paralysis, goes with the territory of panic. I'm not in any way debasing the side effects of medication. Only offering another Avenue of thought to consider. A lot of the time symptoms can be attributed to many aspects of your lifestyle. Be open to every possibility and keep taking those baby steps forward. They really do amount to a lot! My libido came back, went away again, came back and so on. Slowly but surely the hard times get shorter. I still have bad patches, we all do but it's not a lost cause. I'd urge you to talk to your doctor about the medications in conjunction with the weight loss program. To answer your question, I don't think theres many panic sufferers who haven't faced these problems at some stage. Fear not, you're never alone! Hope someone who has experience with Zoloft and Ativan will read this and can give you some informed advice.
Take care and keep us posted. :)
