Hi Callie. Yes your neighbour is right! Oatmeal (porridge) is a fantastic food. It is actually known to help with depression and exhaustion (particularly exhaustion caused through depression) It is also a slow sustained energy release and is excellent for the digestive and nervous system. The dihorrea is probably due to anxiety and nerves (providing you've ruled everything else out through the doctor through tests etc). I've found dihorrea just to be a side effect of anxiety disorder. Oats are also meant to provide one of the best remedies for 'feeding' the nervous system. It also has Vitmain B and calcium in it. Make sure it is the porridge type of oatmeal your'e having, not instant oatmeal that will do nothing! Hope this helps. :)

Trish---I am on 2 blood pressure meds, Zoloft, and Xanax. I know this sounds silly, but my neighbor told me that if I would eat oatmeal every morning, I would have energy, but it seems that the oatmeal is like a laxative. Also take cholestorol med. Callie

Callie, If you have alot of diarrhea, you could be dehydrated which would cause fatigue, no energy. Would you happen to be on a beta blocker? That will also zap your energy. Trish
