Hi Disney You've had lots of good responses. Some of us have gone through rough spots at certain times in our quits...but I think this is different with everyone. As you have heard from others, you will be setting yourself up if you EXPECT to feel bad at these times. (You may just breeze through them) On the other hand, sometimes it feels like we are getting hit out of left field when a heavy craving comes on when we have gone a long way in our quit. It helps us to know that this is just a temporary phase and that all will be well again. Congrats on 21 days...the rewards sound mighty fine! And just think Disneyfan, you will be a non-smoker and won't have any trouble staying in one of the Disney owned hotels that are all going smoke free on June 1, 2007. Yippee, won't that be great!!! Congratulations on 21 days! In the past, I've found that DWELLING on a thought about smoking or craving could BRING ON worse cravings. I don't think we should expect to struggle at particular points - many do, but many don't and why not be optimistic that you will be one who won't? When those thoughts start to invade my head, I find that just acknowledging that they are there and then putting it into perspective (I won't worry about that today, don't smoke anymore so it doesn't matter, this is just because I had meal..argument...got in car...etc...) and then telling the thoughts to scram does the trick. Don't anticipate hard times, but be prepared for if they hit! Hey Disneyfan! You're doing great, at three weeks already! My belief is, if you think it will be bad...it probably will. So just carry on with a positive attitude. People have bad days, it's called being human and does not necessarily have anything to do with quitting smoking! I was worrying about getting out in my garden, as I thought it would trigger cravings...But I thought 'To hell with that, I've been done smoking long enough now. I went out, and had no cravings!' Your quit can be hard if you make it hard, or it can be easy if you make it easy! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,484 Amount Saved: $622.45 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 4 Mins: 4 Seconds: 38
