Hi, I'm Lexi. I've been on Lexapro for about 8 months now for generalized anxiety disorder with panic episodes. My dosage is 10mg daily, but your doctor may decide on something different. Lexapro is not a fast-acting med. It takes about 3 months to fully kick in, and even then, you don't feel like "wow" or anything. It is very subtle, but you should notice your level of anxiety is decreased and that you are able to cope with situations in a more rational manner. However, Lexapro does not necessarily prevent setbacks of panic. I currently am having a setback with my panic, and have been taking small doses of Adavan to try and calm myself down a bit. Still, it is a struggle. But I had a good, 8 month run of no panic or bad anxiety on the Lexapro and that was a start. Remember, beating this is a process. Med and dosage juggling, along with different kinds of therapy are all part of healing. Best wishes, you can do this!
