Ifyouplease - I am using Chantix. I'm not worried about going off it when I hit 3 months because it isn't nicotine replacement. Have you thought about using something like Chantix? Question: What made you lose your prior quit? As far as nic goes, yes, 3 or so days and it is out of your body. But the most important thing is to keep this quit. Do whatever you need to do to make sure that happens. It sounds all good, but in reality, do what YOU feel comfortable with. If you notice it worsens, then maybe wean yourself off the gum. When you get that intense craving, instead of popping in a gum or putting on a patch, maybe you could ride it out. But only one craving at a time my friend!! Keep posting! And drink tons of water when you detox. Extra sleep helps, as well as exercise. Remember how to deep breathe too. 4my2girls My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 372 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,188 Amount Saved: $1216.44 Life Gained: Days: 30 Hrs: 0 Mins: 12 Seconds: 26

I've known a couple of people addicted to the gum! I know one guy that quit smoking with the gum, and is addicted to the gum and has been for four years, but here's what I don't understand. When he doesn't have the money, he doesn't buy the gum, weeks could pass, I've seen him go six weeks with no gum, then gets the money and buys some. That's peculiar to me, after six weeks wouldn't you be done? I have a quit date for the gum, and am following the plan laid down by the manufacturer. I feel that I know what to expect and can do it.
