Nurseboy, when I my relapse started I was anxious and panicky for several weeks 24/7. When I had a moment of feeling "normal" I would automatically wonder why I was feeling ok and how long it would last. Instead of enjoying the moment it just made me anxious again because I was sure it wouldn't last.
After finding a new counselor, cutting out the caffiene and starting the Paxil CR my moments of feeling "normal" were more frequent. I would wake up with anxiety and feel very afraid but by the afternoon the feelings would pass. Here it is 4 weeks later and I'm doing fine. I wake up feeling great. Every once in a while I feel anxious and I'm still working on going places alone, but I know that eventually that will come too. I'm just greatful that the feeling of dread is gone.

CAN ANYONE REALTE TO THIS?
Even when i am not panicking i wonder why i am not panicking and when it will happen. i have problmes with thoughts racing through my head and when my mind is rarely calm...i wonder what happened and when it will start again! i feel like the thoughts are like a river behind a dam..and the **** can break any moment...so when the thoughts aren't there...i am always alert and anxious waiting for them!
Here are some good points to follow when seeking counseling:
1. Find a physician you can trust and be open and honest with. This way you can explain your symptoms and worries.
2. Let your physician complete any evaluations or examinations necessary to determine the cause of your symptoms. Be sure they explain the procedure to you and if you want to have a nurse, family member or friend by your side be sure to let them know this.
3. Your physician may want to have another specialist follow up with him or her. It is important at this time to follow your physician€™s advice.
4. If your doctor finds no physical evidence or cause for your panic attacks then please refer to our Panic Program.
Blondie, you are at a point in your life where you want answers. With you continuing to find answers to your questions and concerns is an amazing step. Please continue to share your thoughts with us. We can walk you through our program if needed.
We hope that this information given to you today has helped answer any questions you may have had on seeking counseling.

Hi Blondie,
The only reason I asked about the EKG is because of my own experience. I don't want to scare you in anyway. That is the last thing I want. What does your heart feel like when it is racing? Does it come with the anxiety or does it come out of no where?
Love, FestiveFeet <><
My heart used to race like that all the time and it would scare me senseless! It raced so fast that I couldn't believe that it was just panic, but it was! Now that I have a handle on the panic more, it doesn't do it hardly ever. You will be fine. Tell yourself that it's just the panic making your heart do that, because that's what it is! The more it can scare you the faster it goes. You'll get past this!
im 24 and i worry about my heart too..it races sometimes latley everyday..i rember though its panic although in my head my heart is bad..im sure you are fine..
Blondie, I'm assuming that 89 was the year you were born because you said you are young. I was around your age when my anxiety began to get really bad, I think my hormones played a big role in it getting worse. My heart would race all the time to and it still does when my panic is really bad. I'm 34 now and have a son who was born in 1989 and I'm still alive and kicking, so try not to worry if a racing heart was serious it would have effected me by now. make sure you keep your appointment tomorrow , you will feel so much better after you talk to someone.
Hey thanks for the advice! I am sure that it is my anxiety that makes me feel this way. I am not on any meds tho. My mom wanted me to try the counseling first. I only get the anxiety bad when i am stressed out. I thought if it was my heart, i wouldnt be ableto be as active as i am. I run miles a lot and i know if it was i would have troubles by now! Its just this dumb anxeity. I hope the appt tommorrow works! Thanks again~Krista More replies are welcome! They make me feel better to know that i am not the only one!
