What does "Ready" to quit mean?

You have invested 45 days into this already and that is very impressive. I initially quit back in May, then started after 70 days, then quit for a week, then staryted smoking again, then quit for .......... Anyway, I was in constant withdrawel from the back and forth. I finally had to get my act togather and either return to smoking full-time or quit. Quitting means NOPE. I can NEVER take another puff or I will be back to 3 packs a day. Had I choose to smoke, I would have been forced to accept that I would die within a few years, most likely. I think you made a wise decision to quit. The Chantix is a wonderful aid. But that is all it is...an aid. The desire and stamina come from within. Sounds like you are a bit down and vulnerable right now. Guard the quit. This will pass...I promise. I still have occassional moments of 'You know, a smoke would make me feel better right now...' But, in reality, I know that is not true. Keep the quit---it's worth it! Audrey, You've received some great advice from your fellow quitters. Every quitter doubts themselves at some point but look your quit meter, you're doing it! Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Audrey, ..... knowledge is the key. It's o.k. to be a 'comeback kid', the thing is we either choose to smoke or we don't. The more we know about our nicotine addiction the better our chance of fighting it. I don't think we can ever be 100% ready but so shear guts & determination go along way.
