herbal?

for 18 år siden 0 589 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I agree with Keith, one herbal and you'll want even more to go back to smoking. Use straws to hold in your hand and suck on, someone once taught me that a milkshake straw with the end folded over twice when you suck on it kinda feels like a smoke, try it. Try what ever else will help get you through, just no smoking. Period. No herbal and no real ones. Kevin said it best... smoking is smoking is smoking is smoking! Many of the deadly chemicals that are in cigarettes are not in the cigarettes themselves, but are a by-product of what happens when you light them. The smoke is what gets us... not just the tobacco itself. Stay away from the herbal cigs and don't be fooled by that junkie lie that herbal cigarettes are better for you because they aren't! Keep up the awesome work! Wish I could make quitting easy for you, but unfortunately there's only one way to get through those early days and that's to get through them smoke free. Keep up the great work! Crave the Quit! Materialgirl, It's a slippery slope. You've got 4 days under your belt and it will only get better from here. Keep persevering! Try to find other great substitutes for smoking. Replace that old habit with new passions, treat yourself to things you normally wouldn't and find some great distractions. Danielle ________________________ The SHO Support Team

Materialgirl, The though had crossed my mind. i went cold turkey so for the first 3 days i could have killed anyone who crossed my path & i thought of trying the herbals but didn't baceause of the 'mental thing'. The 'mental thing' at this early stage is the emotional attachment to cigarettes. if you smoke one herbal, you could end up wanting the real thing even more. I am a great advocate of anything herbal...but not cigarettes. I tried to quit on them once and it just didn't work. I was still smoking and was not getting a nicotine hit. So it wasn't long before I was back smoking regulars. try and be strong, get through these first few days and things will get much better. Clove cigs!!! GAG!!!! A guy at work smokes those vile things. He stinks worse than all the other smokers combined. Keep up the great herbal and clove cig-free quit, Materialgirl. Shevie P.S. The act of smoking those things is an easy path to relapse. Just forget it. OK? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 561 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,221 Amount Saved: $2131.8 Life Gained: Days: 104 Hrs: 14 Mins: 23 Seconds: 56

I have to agree with everyone else, smoking is smoking is smoking.... But you need something to help with the "hand to mouth" habit, I was the same, there are various things you can use, some of which have already been mentioned, like ball pens or straws. Pharmacies often sell dummy cigarettes too. My favourite was cinammon sticks: they are the "right" size and shape you get good resistance when you pull air through them (just make sure there aren't any loose bits to choke you when you start a new one!) you get a little bit of cinammon flavour with the air, which is soothing you can gradually nibble at them to get more cinammon flavour they are fairly readily available in the spices section of most stores (or in the home baking section) Just don't attempt to light one up!!! You're nearly through hell week now, well done and keep going!
