Rich - I have been on Lexapro for about 4-1/2 months now, and it's really helped me alot! I, too, felt kind of 'speedy' at first, but it's just you getting used to the med. It doesn't last long, and it's worth going thru it to find out if it helps you. Give it a chance to work, it has really changed my life and given me a chance to concentrate on changing my thoughts instead of panicking all the time!
Nicole, I don't know what it's like to get off of it, but I would certainly ask my doctor if it's time for you to quit it. My dr said that alot of people quit taking the meds too soon, and then they are right back where they started, or worse. He said people start to feel better and then they think that the problem is solved. Use the time on the meds to change your way of thinking, that truly is the key. Meds just help us to be able to concentrate on changing our thoughts. I am using this time to find ways to change the way I think about things, and practicing making these changes a habit. A habit takes a while to develop. Good luck to all!
