I truly agree with you about Dr. Claire Weekes books. Those books of her were what got me to understand what I was going through. They helped me alot to learn what I was feeling and going through. They are great books and I recommend them to everyone out there. I have read so many book which have helped me out so much. I learned self talk, relaxation techniques and coping skills all on my own that have helped me come this far. I am not on medication or any therapy since I can't afford it so all the self help books I have read so far have really helped and gotten me out of my fear and anxiety. I can say that I have come a long way since where I was once before. Alot of the books I've read tell you that the main way that you can help yourself is MOTIVATION and WANTING to get better. It all about how our "minds" work, we need to reserve our ways of thinking and think POSITIVE thoughts instead of feeding our minds with the negative ones.

I have been listening to the agoraphobia and so far for a months and so far so good. I have gotten out of the house and my attitude is more positive!! Check them out!
The BEST book I've read is by Claire Weekes "HOPE AND HELP FOR
YOUR NERVES" It is great I've read and re-read it over and over.
She explains every symptom and thoughts and feelings I've ever
had. Love to have her as my psych lol. ANyhow just recently
bought "DON'T PANIC" it is harder to read, but still seems pretty
decent. Edword Bourne's workbook I have too. It's ok.

I noticed you guys talking about self help books and stuff and I too have been reading as many of those books I can. And they actually have helped me alot. I learned alot and have learned by reading them how to control my anxiety and how to practice some breathing exercise and slef talk that has really help me overcome my anxiety and panic. I now only if I have panic attacks or anxiety,it only reaches about a 3 or 4 on the anxiety scale. I have not had a full blown panic attack in a long time. If I do have any they are usually mini panics. The books I've read have really help me alot.
Also a friend of mine that I met on here got me some tapes for my agoraphobia which have helped tremendously!! They are subliminal persuation and self hypnosis tapes on agoraphobia. Since I started using them I have felt more better and more confident and more courages to try and get out of the house. They are soothing and relaxing too. The company makes all kinds for whatever problem you have. I truely recommend them.
