I know exactly how you feel. I think all of us feel like something is missing. That enjoyment is gone... My husband, who has been quit now for 134 days, told me last night that yesterday was the worst day for him as far as wanting a cigarette. Nothing particular was going on...just out of the blue...however, he reassures me that it is not as frequent as it was at first. Yep, we're all tired. Windy, my dear friend, I am right there with you! I appreciate so much your posts! BTW, Thanks for the hairy leg, fireman, new condo, spiked tea, etc...sounds like you could use a bit of a change yourself! ;) Tell ya what, you can move into my new condo with me and the three of us (including the hairy-legged fireman, who, BTW, looks fab in a little black speedo!) can sit around, smoke-free, drinking drug-laced tea! :p OMG!!! deja vu!!! The same thing happened to me at Woodstock! :p I do believe Fish has it figured out...the 30 day slump! Windy, You're right focusing on your achievements and taking care of yourself when you're tired is important. Hang in there, you'll see in time and with a little more practice you won't look to that nasty old habit to help you deal with stressors. Traditionally that 30 day or one month mark is a bit of a trial for us addicts. It's a big milestone and you feel you've come so far, it should be over, right? Well, you have come so far and those days are over. It's time to take a bit of Windy time. Find some space to really reflect on what you have accomplished - write it down. Cry, tears of joy, because you are making the steps we all have had to stumble through. You are not alone, Windy. Breath in the success you have right now. Windy Wanting something. Here is what I did early in my quit. Whenever I wanted a cigarette, I popped a peppermint in my mouth. After meals, in the morning, when I was stressed, when I was emotional, whatever the case, I sucked on a peppermint. After a while I began wanting a peppermint instead of a cigarette. That worked for me. Peppermint, water and a lot of deep, deep breaths. I know you are tired. I remember that feeling very well. Don't give up. You are doing great. I see you everyday on these boards and you are progressing! You just can't see it yet. Soon you will look back on these days and say "Hey! I did it!" You are doing it Windy. Hey Windy, I think I know exactly what you are talking about. For me it's like a tapping on my shoulder. Doesn't hurt or anything, but a constant tap, tap, tap, tap, tap... I can ignore it, but after a while I feel like screaming "ENOUGH ALREADY! I have ignored you all this time, just GO AWAY!". Good for you doing what it takes to stay quit. 4 weeks is great. Keep sweeping those thoughts ways and fighting the good fight! August
