Auctionman, I do too want to walk two 2 miles a day. Before quitting I just walked one mile a day, but now I can feel my walking improving just after 5 days of quitting. Everyday when I get home from work I just want to go outside and keep walking. I also want to swim longer too. There are so many good things we can do after quit so lets be strong. -TT

I am getting hooked on coffee Used to drink one a day now have lost count Its got to stop! Perhaps we should start a caffeine addiction site? Seriously its better than the dreaded nicotine but I do want to cut back. I am on the patches but jhave managed to avoid sweets etc as Ireally dont want to go there. usually I tend to suck on a cotton bud or chew on it as it helps me deal with the cravings till it passes over me My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 289 Amount Saved: 77 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 23 Mins: 47 Seconds: 51

Congrat Ericon on 2 weeks. A-man, you are doing well. I drank lots of hot tea. Strong mints and gum were a huge help when a strong crave came. Hey you can always try your other hobbie. LOL :eg: I guess, only if you had someone willing. ;p Have a great smoke free day. Oh yeah I finaly cured my 3wk hang-up ;) Grace My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 494 Amount Saved: $96 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 18 Mins: 12 Seconds: 42

I'm doing surprisingly well. Go figure! But my life is calm now, no high stress & no smokers around. I slipped at day 15 last month, so want to quietly get past that point again & look forward to making the 30 day mark. Am much stronger in my quit this time. I use straws and gum for my 'hand to mouth' habit. I have also fallen in love with spaghetti -- LOL! I work out at a gym every other day plus am using a SSC mentor who has proved to be extremely helpful. So along with a strong determination not to smoke, that's how I'm doing it. And you're doing everything right AuctionMan - - keep posting and reading at this site, you'll find what works for you too! Take care & keep that quit! Auctionman, Sunflower seeds are a great coping mechanism for cravings. Other members have also found it helpful to eat shelled peanuts, cinnamon hearts, spicy food, ice water and the list goes on... Phil, Caffeine produces some of the same effects in your brain as does smoking, that may be why your hooked. You can try mixing your coffee with hot chocolate, drinking tea or a lighter blend of coffee. Take a look and figure out why your drinking it so often. Are you craving it? Are you bored or just tired? Hope this helps, Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team
