Bgaines, Look it up on the internet, there are plenty of pictures. I am also have many stories I could tell. They are very graphic. I know the damage it does all to well. This is one of the best decisions you could of made for yourself! Keep strong! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Yeah I know what you are talking about marie. The void feeling coupled with the 'I'm being cheated out of fun' feeling. Really though, the reward center in your brain is just needing a boost. I would reccommend a reward that you could get REALLY excited about. Something you can carry with you and something that YOU KNOW you would not have if you HAD NOT QUIT SMOKING. It's very important for you to nip that 'deprived' feeling in the bud right away. Let's talk about being deprived for a sec okay? Here's what you are HONESTLY depriving yourself of by not smoking: COPD FATIGUE COUGHING YELLOW TEETH INTERNAL ORGAN PROBLEMS (LUNGS, HEART, ETC) $6 OR MORE A PACK SOCIAL SIGMA THAT IS GROWING EACH PASSING DAY The list is much longer but I'll stop there. :) I want you to really look at that list marie, THAT IS THE TRUTH! Smoking a cigarette with your friends tonight would not have been nearly as romantic as you can imagine it to be at the time. The reality of "not smoking this long" and then lighting one up is much less glamourous in reality. Your lungs are no longer coated with mucus to combat the heat of the smoke and they are not used to the poison in the smoke anymore either. Stay strong marie. :) You deserve to live a healthy life. Hi, Marie. These feelings you're having are quite normal. I think part of it may be that when you were at the smoker's house you got whiffs and they reminded you to be strong in the face of temptation. At the non-smoker's house you didn't have that reminder. All you had was the knowledge, probably way down deep, that when it was over you wouldn't be able to smoke on the way home. So you started getting fidgity, antsy, just like you used to when you knew it would be a long time before you could finally light up. Use whatever coping skills work for you, Marie. Deep breaths, ice water, candy, etc. Maybe some light exercise like jumping jacks to get your heart rate up a bit and make your brain release some endorphines. This will pass. Just hang tight. Tomorrow's another day. :) Keep up the good quit. marie, You did well and I hope you are feeling better this morning :) This is the nicodemon trying to get in for one last chance. He is sneaky and will pop up when and where you will least expect it. Hold on to those coping mechanisms and see that you can make it through. This will dwindle in time and you can do it! Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
