LOL @ Brenda He could get NOPE inscribed on the back of the watch. He wouldn't be able to see it, but he'd know it was there. I think that is a great idea. Reward yourself with small things each day. Medium things each week. And something big at your big milestones. How bout surprising her with a candlelit pizza dinner? Make her happy and you get to see her beautiful smile. Knowing you put that smile on her face will in turn put one on yours. I agree with Cyberduke. Why would you go through all of this to be smoke free and then expose yourself to second hand smoke on purpose? I did not not my normal self in the beginning either. I do not think anyone is. The first 3 weeks were the hardest for me. Hang in there. This is a process. And part of the process is discovering the new non smoking you. If you want to be happy, do something to make someone else happy. I promise you it works. And don't forget that being happy is a choice. It doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means you have decided to be happy regardless of any difficulties going on at the moment. Happiness is a state of mind. If you want to change your life, change your mind. Keep on keeping on Confused_U2. I know you can do this. Stay out of the smoke room - you don't belong there anymore. You're keeping the door open on your addiction by going there. Close the door. Make the final step. You are not the first to feel like this. It is possible that you are getting just enough nicotine in that smoke room to satisfy some craving and then send you into withdrawals at night. Think through your choices...can you just go in and get your coffee and leave...go outside for a break instead? Ian, Great job on those 17 Days! You have already gotten very sound advice and encouragement. There are only a couple things that I can add. Yup, the first month or two are really just odd. It takes some getting used to and it can be a bit weird and/or overwhelming. After that initial funk though you'll start re-discovering things about yourself that were kind of stuffed down by the smoking. Those things are SO much more fulfilling than anything you may "lose" by quitting. Have you been giving yourself rewards along the way? These might help some of the discomfort at the house. You are doing great and as everyone said it will get better and better as you continue along.
