Breathing does help! Slow, deep breaths, inhale and exhale. You are going to have some tantrums, and that is okay! Forgive yourself and move on ! You are quitting a deadly addiction and you should be proud of yourself ! Cinda, That may have something to do with the way you utilized smoking. If you used smoking to relieve stress, your first stressful event without it made your brain realize, "oh we are stressed" and in turn triggered a craving. Time to break this cycle. Replace smoking with a new way to cope in stressful situations. Good luck, Danielle ____________________________ The SSC Support Team

Take it easy and remember to BREATHE. A couple days ago I was going through my 6th day and I lost it over my husband eating an entire box of cereal in one sitting. Then I also cried for hours. Its part of the norm and the advice I received here was excellent. Just to sit back, relax and breathe. Always remember to count to 10 before yelling or doing anything (which actually does work). Its a rough but well needed road we are all taking. You can do this and I'm sure there are some ex smokers at work that know exactly what you are going through. I explained to my co-workers and they expected the worst and so far I've been alright. If you start to get a little upset again, come here. There are actually some very good uplifting messages and some hilarious ones. This will pass. Hi there, Tell your colleagues (and boss) at work what you are going through. Think you'll find they'll be on your side and want to help. Remember that in the long term, you're actually helping your employer by becoming a fitter, healthier employee Take care, Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 123 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,709 Amount Saved: 922.5 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 14 Mins: 39 Seconds: 51

Oh Honey, I so know where you are right now! On day 8 my quit took a nasty turn. I thought I was going to kill someone for a smoke, the first week was fine and then bam, week 2 hit! It lasted from day 8-10 and then everything was fine, really, fine. Yours may only last a day or two but just ride this out, the nic is trying to get you back. Your brain is catching up and realizing that you are serious and its pissed. Hang in there, never go through this agony again, beat the addiction NOW! Try to learn from it. What set you off, why couldn't you cope. Find a way to cope next time. Apologize to folks if need be, let them know you're quitting if they don't already. Most people will understand. Stay strong in your quit. Don't give back all the ground you've taken. The demon will do some really bad things to your head if you listen. Remember to talk to yourself a lot and remind yourself why your doing this. Remember to come here often and post. We all want you to succeed, and you will. You can do this.
