Ann - i coudn't even find my shoes without throwing a nutty. What will we do to cope with this craving? I cannot possibly drink more water nor can I eat another thing or I will explode. How is it possible that with all the people here you and i both need some positive energy to share? Actually, just reading your response helps me... at least i am no the only one losing my mind at this particulare moment.
That nicodemon he is tricky. Lets me think I am OK. Lets me get through the day. Lets me feel like i may actually get control of this thing. then BAM as i prepare for bed i am itchy and my throat is tight and my brain is SCREAMING. I cannot relax cannot sit still cannot stop pacing the floor boards. I saw a post the other day from someone wiht 100+ days who said these same exact things and i swear if I have to feel like this for 100+ days i cannot take it. positive attitude is the key - anyone out there have one i can borrow for a moment?
I understand what you mean. When I was new in my quit, I had a hard time reading about 100+ day craves too. Now that I am at 30 some days and am more secure in my quit I can read those types of posts. Do not let them scare or discourage you. Believe that once you get through the physical withdrawals this is going to get easier for you. And remember everyone's quit is different. I do not crave cigarettes at all. Do I have triggers that remind me of smoking? Yes. Do I think about the subject of smoking yes. Do I crave a cigarette? No. I have only craved a cigarette once and that was when I went out to a bar and was drinking. I did not smoke, but I am obviously not ready for my defenses to be down due to alcohol yet. Aekvall, I am glad you're feeling better, except for itchiness. The cortisone should help.I responded to you last night on the June Bug thread. Glad you're better too Zazz. It's nice to be able to throw a cyber tantrum. Still feeling positve about not smoking, don't hate me- if this helps, I am not so positive at all about this weight thing ;) Zany My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 135 Amount Saved: $19.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 7 Mins: 23 Seconds: 10

Zazz and Ann- if you two think that it's going to be all roses after the first week, you are going to be very frustrated, and very unprepared for that nasty crave which WILL hit you after 100 days or so. The first week is horrible, don't get me wrong, and I empathize with you and don't think people here didn't notice your posts. But please stick with it and learn so you are prepared. You're both into your second weeks and that is awesome. C'mon- we don't need any more "oops I slipped" threads here. You can do it! :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 116 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,678 Amount Saved: $1044 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 5 Mins: 13 Seconds: 43

Zazz and Aekvall, I sure hope you two are still around, and smoke free. I just wanted to tell you not to think that far ahead. You guys will be in a different place and frame of mind when you reach 100+ days. But comparing then to what you are going through now, will only make you more frusterated. Take care of yourself now. Deal with your cravings now. You have made it through hell week. I bet you do feel better than you did in the first couple of days, right? Think of something you feel has changed for the better. Write down some new things that you want to do now that you don't smoke. That positive energy is there, you just have to look for it, that's all. Quitting is good. Focus on the good things. Don't give your power and energy to Nicodemon. The more you focus on the battle and the craves, the stronger they are. Take your life back. You two are doing GREAT!!! Keep up the good work, and never stop fighting!!! ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 102 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,073 Amount Saved: $333.54 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 5 Mins: 49 Seconds: 19
