I thought i had posted a response to this... sorry.
I asked the question as I had quit so many times, and then would do it all over again. I wondered if I was common in that. Your answers are really helpful.
The 3s thing is interesting as i have lost quits at 3 days, 3 weeks and 3 months. Now that i know that this is a problem for a lot of people, I will look out for it, and it wont beat me, no way.
Your responses did help me. I hope you didnt think I was judging anyone Josie. I work with homeless people many of whom are addicted and on programmes and scripts. I would never judge anyone. Mad thing is, that they can give up crack cocaine,or heroin. When I say I am quitting smoking, its usually a raised eyebrow, and an 'are you mad' comment? they say, there is no way I could do that........
