Well, not much better! I am just snapping at everything today. Just trying ot make it to bedtime without being too much of an evil biatch! Its driving me insane that I can be this angry about something. I am mean to my hubby and my son right now and I gotta say I am not likin it much! I try to calm down but my goodness it is so hard. I am trying to just ignore everything and keep busy but wow, this sucks. I have you on my list too but it shows you offline. I put myself back online cuz for some reason it had me offline, huh? Well, if I can catch any of you all on IM thats great!! Thank you so much Island, it means a lot to me. I am lucky to have a some really great friends cheering me on all the way. You all have really made the difference in this quit. Thanks for being concerned for me. I am doing better today. I didn't have a meltdown first thing in the morning this time and didn't chew my gum until about an hour after I woke up! Yesterday was not fun but its a distant memory right now. I will take what I learned from it and just incase i have another day like that I will know to do better! Hope you have a great trip, Island! Dear Nascar Fan This is HELL week. I dejevue your day 5 to mine. My husband told me the exact same thing! I cried and grabbed my keys walked to my car to go to the store for smokes, but I changed my mind. Don't forget the deep breaths and mantras....smoking is bad, quitting is good....smoking is bad, quitting is bad.....if you can get through those 5 minutes you can do this! I feel bad for you with your husband smoking. Maybe you can have a heart to heart and ask him to support you by not smoking around you or smelling like smoke. That worked for me. My hubby stopped smoking as soon as he got home. Take Kare Nascar and Stay Strong....you have a race to win!! Hi NascarFan - or should I say Casey Fan!! Saturdays are a little quiet sometimes around here on the SSC. The monitors are here all the time but it might take some time for you to hear back from alot of people. I have noticed that you are really posting your thoughts and encouragements for other people. That's the best thing that You can do for yourself. My husband smokes as well. It is soooo hard sometimes. We never smoked in the house but on the back screen porch. I have had to ask him not to smoke there as well but to go out into the yard and smoke. He has been a trooper and has done this. He has tried to quit but he's just not there yet. The first couple of weeks is very hard. You are feeling things and emotions that you haven't felt in years - maybe never. Smoking really masks things in our braing and now our bodys have to get rid of the fog, the toxins and all that bad juju. You will not feel to good and feel like snapping at the world. When that happens try to go somewhere - take a walk by yourself, take a hot bath with calming music playing in the background, go write your husband a letter telling him to please understand and be supportive of you. He just doesn't get it right now. He has no clue what you are going through. Do not be jealous of him. You have all these glorious smoke free days ahead of you and he doesn't. You smell wonderful and fresh, he doesn't. Everyday your body is healing itself, his isn't. I am proud of you. I am proud of anyone that can own their quit. You are a strong amazing woman who can face the world and say I AM A NON-SMOKER! Be proud of your success! You can do this - just slam that little junkie voice with a baseball bat. Don't ever think that people here don't care or do not respond just to your posts. It happens and on a beautiful Saturday like this one many people have things going on. My son is graduating from high school tonight but when I saw your posts I knew that I just needed to sit down and write to you. Are you going to watch the race tomorrow? Take care - Make Your Mark - Join the Circle (the circle of non-smoking that is!) Nascar Fan - I decided to finally download the IM myself after all these days. I'm not sure that I did it right but it has you as being signed in on this website but the IM said that you were not signed in. I just wanted to check and see if everything was better. Cigarettes Not Smoked

I wanted to catch you early this morning because my husband and I are going off to Jacksonville today to get my Vespa maintenance. It should be interesting because this is the first time we have been on a "road trip" and me not smoking and he still is. We will be in his truck as we have to load the Vespa in the back so I really can't ask him not to smoke. We'll see what happens. I know that it won't be a temptation to me because right now any kind of cig smoke really repels me. That's a nice side effect - but I'm sure it won't last long. If you can just make it through the next couple of weeks I promise it does get better. I went on Wellbutrin to take the edge off and it really worked. But sometimes I still feel that inner rage and have to remove myself from the situation. Maybe if you can explain to your son and husband that this is really a hard time for you and to forgive you in advance that might help. Just walk away - and come on here and let us be your punching bags. Just type and type and type until it feels a little better. Check around on some of the older posts for information on how the people that have been here the longest deal with all this. The first couple of weeks I just felt like a big ol mess. It was not a fun time but I knew in my heart that this is what I needed to do. I'm with you all the way here and I know you want to succeed as well. I was checking around on the site - do you know that you have posted 188 times as of yesterday. Everytime I check into a thread there is an encouraging word of support from you. I think you are one awesome chick! I know that you can own this quit - it is just going to take some time to get over the rough and bumpy ride that this is. Please tell your husband NOT TO TELL YOU TO HAVE A CIG. Just because you're snappy doesn't mean that you have to continue killing yourself with smoking. Have a great day - get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Do something nice for yourself - you deserve it!!! It's reward time for you!!! I can always find a reason to celebrate since I'm a Non-smoker!! Hey Nascar, Just checking in to see how things are going. Looks like MUCH better! We've had company that last two days and I haven't had much time to SSC. Glad you are doing better. Hi Nascar, Congrats on 5 days! Fantastic! Hang in there and this crazy stuff will pass. My husband and I have been having to deal with each other's moods and my roller coaster craves too. Which by the way was pretty intense end of first week going into the second. Heck, we really didn't even talk to each other for a whole week! It hasn't been pretty but we are beginning to make the necessary adjustments and see the light at the end of the tunnel. My husband doesn't smoke so it is different from your situation. I imagine it must be really difficult at times when your husband is smoking and seems to be enjoying it. In the long run though, you know you are doing the best thing and that in time, it won't bother you. Maybe he'll quit too! And on the not much support thing, well I think on the weekends folks are busy with family and such and don't have much time to respond to posts. You know the folks here are ready to help at a moments notice. Try to remember this is your quit and don't let it slip for NOBODY! Hey, I had the smoking dream last night. Scared the dickens out of myself and remembered being really disappointed in my dream (safe way to find out how you will feel after a slip)! So you hang in there and just don't smoke! Like you said it isn't going to change a thing. So, go see a movie, plant a garden, go shopping or go for a girls night out. Hope the rest of your weekend is all downhill for you! A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner. - unknown Lunatic Joonie My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 573 Amount Saved: $98 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 3 Mins: 9 Seconds: 38
