Stomach pains

I sure hope you have found a little relief X-Smoker!! I didn't get anything like that, but I just thought I'd tell you to try to add in veggies that are mostly water. That might be a way to add in a little more water without having to guzzle. Fruit2O is good too. Be careful on the tea if it is caffinated. And definately watch your fiber intake. Take care!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,265 Amount Saved: $245.25 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 1 Mins: 48 Seconds: 39

Hello X Again I am not a Doctor and you say you are on the patch. One of the symptoms of nicotine overdose is abdominal pain, nausea. Yes there are many reasons and symptoms we have in our quits, each quitter is different and the symptoms and side effects of quitting, withdrawal and all the rest are going to be different in each quitter. If you have some symptom that is going on too long, is more sever than you imagined it might be a good idea to check with your doctor or your pharmacist. You might do an internet search for what are the typical symptoms of nicotine overdose or nicotine application to skin are. Hope you feel better soon. Hey X-smoker, I should have also put in my post that I was ready to head for the doctor's if my symptoms didn't subside. Man! It was not fun at all! Mine lastest about 7 hours and then I fell asleep from pure exhaustion. Woke up the next morning feeling much better. But I sure did think about the emergency room a time or two. Hope you are doing better! Hi X-smoker, I don't know if this is the same thing but I had pretty severe stomach problems when I ate too much of foods that I wasn't use to such as carrots in one day trying to substitute cigs. In fact, I had cramping from it that would last for hours! Anyone else have problems? Years ago, while I was still a chimney, I worked for a guy that kept a huge jar of peanut M&Ms in his office. I was in there every 30 - 60 minutes and each visit I'd grab a handful. Constantly had a bloated feeling, almost painful, stomach. Then I went on a two week vacation and in a couple of days it was gone. Within a few days of returning it was back. It was the M&Ms, actually it was the chocolate. Phillip makes a good point about nicotine overdose, too. If the coffee doesn't help, you might want to try that next. And get back on a decent diet. This whole quitting smoking thing is supposed to be to get you healthier, right? ;p Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 361 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,238 Amount Saved: $1371.8 Life Gained: Days: 67 Hrs: 11 Mins: 19 Seconds: 4

Hi, X-Smoker. Nicotine tends to inhibit the action of caffeine. When you quit, coffee tends to have a stronger effect on you. However, this is not always the case. I never noticed a change in how coffee affected me. That's not to say it didn't change, I just didn't notice it. I'm no doctor, but stomach pains could be gas, ulcers, or muscle cramping. For a while I experienced a pronounced increase in gas (if only my car would run on it!), but that didn't start for a few weeks into my quit. Here's some questions that come to mind: Are there any particular foods you are suddenly eating more of, or less of? Any other changes in diet such as when, how often, or how much you eat? Any medications, prescription or over the counter, that may have digestive side effects? Smoking may have inhibited those side effects. Is the candy you're eating sugar-free? Some sugar substitutes can cause digestive distress. You're almost through hell week, X-Smoker. Congratulations. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 361 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,234 Amount Saved: $1371.8 Life Gained: Days: 67 Hrs: 10 Mins: 22 Seconds: 41

Be sure and drink plenty of water....also watch your fiber intake. quitting smoking leaves most of us highly "irregular" for a spell. this could have something to do with what you perceive as stomach pain?? just a thought katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1596 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 63,852 Amount Saved: $8778 Life Gained: Days: 208 Hrs: 5 Mins: 5 Seconds: 37
